STUDENT SERVICES :: RESEARCH & INNOVATION
The Outstanding Scholars program offers paid research opportunities to undergraduate students in every major on campus. There is no cost to departments or faculty to have an Outstanding Scholars student working for them.
There are two Outstanding Scholars programs.
The Outstanding Scholars Candidates program admits high achieving students from secondary school. Candidates receive $750 in fall and winter semesters. They complete a small curriculum, can receive peer mentorship, participate in events, and may want to volunteer in labs. Volunteering is not a requirement. However, many students pursue the opportunity to build a stronger application to the full program.
The Full Outstanding Scholars program admits students after they've completed one year of studies at UWindsor (transfer students may also be eligible).

Typically, there are 100 total candidates, and approximately 250 students in the full program each year.
There is no limit to how many students a research lab can recruit. The central concern is that students are getting developmental and meaningful opportunities to grow as citizens, researchers, people and students.
One of the more unique qualities of the program is that OS students can work in any faculty. All faculties receive a minimum of five students each year.

Once set up as an Outstanding Scholar advisor, you will have access to post projects on the private SharePoint site and will be added to the Brightspace Outstanding Scholar community.
