Alumni Email Services

The University of Windsor is proud to offer its alumni access to their @uwindsor.ca email account after graduation.

This continued access offers convenience (no need to set up a new email account or change your contact information with family and friends) as well as a way to put your UWindsor connection to work for you.

Accessing your alumni email account

  • To access your alumni @uwindsor.ca account, your UWin Account must be active and you must know your UWin Account credentials (UWin ID and Password).
  • Alumni email accounts are in Gmail. Click the Sign in to Gmail button.
  • If your UWin Account is not active or you cannot recall your UWin ID and/or password, please see this ask.UWindsor article for assistance.

Change is Coming

Alumni email will be upgraded from Gmail to Outlook in late 2020/early 2021.

This change is occurring to bring alumni email onto the same platform used by faculty, staff and current students. This move offers enhanced email security for alumni. It also facilitates easier collaboration within the campus community and increases engagement opportunities.

Getting ready - last call

In preparation for the transition from Gmail to Outlook, you need to ensure your UWin Account password is in good standing by November 3, 2020. If your UWin Account password is not in good standing as of November 3, your alumni @uwindsor.ca email account will be disabled starting November 4, 2020. Disabled accounts will not be migrated to Outlook.

How do I know if my UWin Account password is in good standing?

To check the status of your UWin Account password, please:

  1. Go to www.uwindsor.ca/its/uwinid.
  2. In the Quick Links box, click on the Verify Your Password link.
  3. Enter your UWin ID and Password.
  4. Click the Verify Password button.
  5. On the Verify Password Result screen, look to see:
    1. The first LDAP entry is “uwinid exists in LDAP and the password is correct.”
    2. The second LDAP entry contains a password expiry date AFTER November 4, 2020.

If the above criteria are in place your UWin Account password is in good standing and no further action is required.

If your password expiry date is ON or BEFORE November 4, 2020, please change your UWin Account password:

  1. Go to www.uwindsor.ca/its/uwinid.
  2. In the Quick Links box, click on the Change Your Password link.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

So that didn’t work, now what?
