Friday, October 29, 2021 — 3rd Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Symposium ***Virtual​

This year’s 2021 symposium theme is focused on research and technological advances in the field of biomedicine and biotechnology. Symposium is geared towards professionals: scientists working in academia and industry, students, and community members interested in this field.

Location: University of Windsor (Online)

Hosted by Master of Medical Biotechnology Program at the Department of Chemistry & Bio-chemistry, University of Windsor, considering the pandemic (COVID-19) situation, this one-day symposium will be held on October 29, 2021 using online mode of delivery and is free for all attendees. Friday, September 29, 2017 — 2nd biannual Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Symposium​

The 2nd biannual Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Symposium brought to you by the Master's of Medical Biotechnology Program in partnership with EPICentre, will serve to bridge biotechnology entrepreneurship with special focus on commercialization of research ideas and Medical Marijuana. Featuring an invited panel discussions on the hot topics Medical Marijuana and Grants & Funding. These discussions will provide participants with the opportunity to interact with industry professionals and fellow biotechnologists. This event is open to the community, with registration fees of $25 for general admission, student admission FREE. This event is free for students, student ID may be requested. February 26, 2016 — Growing BE: Leadership and Pitching Workshop

The morning session will be a leadership workshop, "Lead to Succeed", and the afternoon session will hone participant's pitching skills, "Simply Pitching". These workshops will take place at the University of Windsor and will be geared towards Science students who want to gain the skills to land a job, convince investors, and secure grants by enhancing their presentation and leadership skills. Participants, please come prepared to make a 1 minute pitch. Pitches may be personal, business/professional, or scientific.


October 3, 2016 — Half-day BE mini-symposium

The half-day BE mini-symposium took place on October 3rd, 2016 and featured the BIS competition 2016, where University Teams pitched their solutions to Biotechnology programs, and heard many informative talks by our wonderful speakers.

The BE Symposium provided the roadmap from technology assessment to final product in market the entire life cycle of an innovation from its inception through securing venture capital to building a sustainable enterprise.

The first ever Bio Innovative Solutions (BIS) competition, hoped to encourage entrepreneurial thinking and problem solving amongst University students, took place on October 3rd, 2015. Team registration is closed for 2015 and will re-open for 2017 registration soon.
