Open house a key part of recruiting efforts

The UWindsor Fall Open House this Friday, November 4, is a very important part of the University’s recruiting efforts, says Dave Bussière, assistant provost – admissions and recruiting.

“It is a chance for prospective students and their parents to visit our campus and learn about our programs,” he says. “For the past seven weeks, we have had recruiters out at hundreds of high schools, and two weeks ago we spoke to thousands of students at the Ontario Universities Fair.

“All of these efforts drive people to our open house and to taking tours of campus.”

All classes continue as scheduled in addition to special open house events, says Dr. Bussière: “This allows the visiting students to get a feel for our vibrant campus.”

Liaison staff asks faculty members and staff who encounter visitors to provide them with directions. The Welcome Centre in the CAW Student Centre is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Find more information, including a schedule of events, at www.uwindsor.ca/openhouse.
