Poster echoes call to do the right thing

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing,” said Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States. That’s the message of this year’s education campaign on academic integrity, reflected on posters now available for distribution across campus.

“We all face difficult situations throughout our academic and professional careers.  Because the choices we make have consequences, students are encouraged—when they come to a fork in the road—to make  decisions that will preserve both their personal integrity and the integrity of their degrees,” says Danielle Istl, the University’s academic integrity officer.

She encourages people wanting posters to hang in their offices, classrooms, or public areas on campus to place an order with Maureen Friest at 519-253-3000, ext. 3929, or e-mail mfriest@uwindsor.ca. Extra copies of last year's “Believe” poster are also available.

The Academic Integrity Office also extends this offer to elementary and secondary schools in Windsor and Essex County.

“The earlier students learn about academic integrity, the better,” Istl says.

Get your orders in fast—Istl expects the posters, designed by Rob Aitkens of the Office of Public Affairs and Communications, to be popular. Read more on the university’s academic integrity policies and procedures.
