All we want for Christmas: a campus wish list

What do people hope to find underneath their tree come Christmas? DailyNews asked some students and faculty to share their holiday wishes.

“I'd like to get anything that someone has put in the time and effort to make for me,” said Kate du Toit, a first-year student of digital journalism and communications. “It always means more than a store-bought gift, regardless of what it is.”

Concurrent education and math student Andrew Keller said he has asked his mom for three things: “Skyrim, a new alarm clock, and clothes.”

Clothes are on the list for second-year business major Adam Sawatzky as well.

“A suit,” he said. “That’s what I want: a business suit, baby.”

Reader Janine Mar, a fourth-year English and French student, wants “Books, books, and more books.”

Second-year biology student Brennen Caron said he doesn’t want a whole lot of anything.

“A few games would be nice I suppose,” he said. “Some money, and some games.”

And Caitlin Lee, a fourth-year English student, has narrowed it down to one simple thing: “A million dollars.”

UWindsor journalism instructors Craig Pearson and Blake Roberts share a wish for nice weather.

“I would like to find skis under the Christmas tree,” said Pearson, “Even though I would also like a warmer-than-usual Christmas with which to enjoy them.”

Roberts will be in Florida over the holidays and is hoping for some nice weather and an opportunity to study – along with a more wintery wish.

“I drive a 2001 Chevy Tracker. I’ve always intended it be turned into a bush-buggy,” he said. “My parents have some property near North Bay which they have to drive 4-wheeled bikes to get into. What I’m asking for is some sort of load-lifter kit—some heavy-duty shocks or springs.”

Criminology professor John Deukmedjian said he would like a special package from Santa.

“Inside, the magical gift of peace, love and an end to suffering among peoples on earth.”
