Want to cheer on the Lancer men’s hockey team in its conference final series against the Western Mustangs? Of course you do, and if you act fast, you can get a break.

The athletics department is offering a discount for UWindsor faculty and staff members to attend Friday’s game two at Windsor Arena. Tickets, normally $8 each, will be available for $5 – three for $10 – to all employees who e-mail an order to Elisa Mitton by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The three-game series will open Wednesday in London. Windsor’s home game at the barn is Friday, March 2; the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Windsor Arena is located at 334 Wyandotte Street East.

Lancers tabbed for provincial recognition

Ontario University Athletics named Lancer men’s hockey players Steve Ferry and Evan Stibbard to its Western conference all-star rosters Monday.

Ferry, a third-year defenseman, was named a second-team all-star after accumulating five goals and 20 assists and just 10 penalty minutes.

A first-year forward, Stibbard was named to the all-rookie team. He scored 30 points in 28 regular-season games – 14 goals and 16 assists.
