A public reception Thursday, May 31, will celebrate the opening the annual high school student art exhibition in the LeBel Building’s Projects Gallery.
Now in its seventh year (hence the title Locale VII), the show features more than 300 works in all sorts of media.
“This year’s exhibit is absolutely awesome,” says visual arts professor Julie Sando, who has been hanging the show in the gallery. “It is visually completely overwhelming.”
She says the works, mostly paintings and drawings, will be displayed from floor to ceiling: “There is not enough room on the walls to hang everything.”
Thursday’s reception runs 7 to 9 p.m. and will give patrons a chance to meet the artists. Locale VII will remain on exhibit through June 8.
