Part-time students enjoy social evening

Olivia Parent and Maryan Amalow

Olivia Parent, a student of languages, literatures and cultures, receives a $250 cash prize during last week’s Organization of Part-time University Students social from executive director Maryan Amalow. Parent's name was drawn from respondents to the organization’s fall 2012 survey on engagement of its members, which was aimed at improving access to and the quality of its services.

Biochemistry major Buerhan Maierdan won a $250 prize for attendees at the event, February 12 in the CAW Student Centre, which included dinner and a presentation by Dave Bussière, assistant vice-president, records and admissions. He spoke about proposals to make more courses available to part-time students, including online, evening, early morning and weekend classes.
