When Yvonne Sinasac first came to work for the University of Windsor in 1987, she figured she would “stay a couple of years.”
Friday, she was among a group of employees recognized for 25 years of service at a luncheon in Vanier Hall.
Sinasac started in the serials bindery in the basement of the Leddy Library. Now an awards administrator in the student aid office, she says her UWindsor career has been extended by the chance to advance.
“I have worked in four or five different departments,” she says. “The great thing about working here is there is always an opportunity to learn and grow.”
UWindsor president Alan Wildeman praised more than 20 veteran faculty and staff members for their dedication and their contributions to creating an exceptional experience for students.
Sinasac says the organizers from the Department of Human Resources did a great job of making her and other honourees feel appreciated.
“We all need to take these opportunities to be recognized and celebrate with our colleagues,” she says.
