Alumni association to sponsor Mother’s Day symphony concert

UWindsor alumni and friends are invited to celebrate Mother’s Day with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

Conductor laureate John Morris Russell will return to Windsor for the season finale on Sunday, May 12, leading the orchestra through a program that includes Wolfgang Mozart’s Violin Concerto no. 1 in B-flat major and Franz Schubert’s Symphony no. 5 in B-flat major.

The event, billed “Russell and Scheirich Re-united,” will feature a solo by violinist Lillian Scheirich, the orchestra’s concertmaster and an adjunct professor of music at the University of Windsor.

The performance is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 121 University Avenue West; a reception immediately following will feature hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Buy tickets online from the WSO. For more information, contact the Office of Alumni Affairs at or 519-971-3618.
