A video podcast of a lecture featuring engineering professor Rupp Carriveau and his predictions for what life will be like in Ontario in 2030 is now available on line.
Dr. Carriveau, whose expertise is in renewable sources of energy, is the university’s representative in a campaign called Research Matters. Organized by the Council of Ontario Universities, its aim is to increase public awareness about the importance of university level research.
Last month the campaign held the fourth in its series of panel discussions, which called upon participants to make their predictions about life in Ontario in the future, as seen through the perspective of their area of exeprtise. Carriveau was joined on stage at the Trius Hillebrand winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake by researchers from Brock and Western universities, and spoke about micro-communities that will generate their own energy from a combination of wind, solar and natural gas sources.
