Swiss misses: a couple of athletes from Switzerland enjoyed their stay in the Macdonald Hall residence.
UWindsor president Alan Wildeman released a statement Tuesday thanking staff and volunteers who helped to host the 2013 International Children’s Games on campus.
The Games ran August 14 to 19, bringing competitors aged 12 to 16 to Windsor from 80 cities around the world. In addition to feeding and lodging athletes, the campus also hosted sporting events in its south campus facilities.
Dr. Wildeman said he had received a call from Windsor mayor Eddie Francis expressing his gratitude for the University’s role in making the Games a success.
“Through all your hard work, you gave these young athletes a wonderful experience and life-long memories of their time in Windsor and on our campus,” Wildeman said.
