Music instructor to lift voice in performance this weekend

Vocalist Shahida Nurullah, a voice teacher at the UWindsor School for Arts and Creative Innovation, will appear in a series of performances over the Labour Day weekend.

Nurullah will appear at Grosse Pointe’s Dirty Dog Jazz Café for sets August 29, 30 and 31. Get the details on the café’s website.

She will close out the long weekend as a guest soloist with the Detroit Jazz Festival Orchestra as it presents the Duke Ellington masterwork Black, Brown and Beige, at 3:15 p.m. Monday on the Carhartt Amphitheatre Stage in Hart Plaza. Learn more on the festival’s website.
