Opening-week performance earns plaudits for Lancer quarterback

A dominant performance in Sunday’s 78-11 victory over the Waterloo Warriors has earned Lancer quarterback Austin Kennedy player of the week honours from Canadian Interuniversity Sport and Ontario University Athletics.

Both leagues named Kennedy their top player on offence after he led Windsor to the highest point total in team history. The fourth-year business major completed 24 of his 28 pass attempts to total 335 yards, including six touchdowns, and ran for a touchdown as part of his 108 yards rushing.

The Lancers will travel to Guelph to face the Gryphons—ranked seventh in the nation—for a Labour day contest Monday at 1 p.m. The game will be webcast live; follow the action here.
