Event to highlight women performers

Sonia Nizzer, one of the 2013 Distinguished Visitors in Women’s Studies, hosts Smash the Glass, an evening of voice and action for women’s studies students, Thursday, October 17, at Phog Lounge.

A graduate of UWindsor social work and women’s studies programs, Nizzer founded Smash the Glass, a feminist music festival dedicated to highlighting women musicians, in 2008. Thursday’s event begins at 7 p.m. and will feature a zine-making workshop with Sarah Morris, a spoken word performance by Coley Coffman, and music from Keats Conlon.

Phog Lounge is located at 157 University Avenue West.
