A Party to Murder hits studio stage

University Players raised the figurative curtain on the mystery thriller A Party to Murder, Thursday in the Jackman Dramatic Art Centre’s Studio Theatre.

The play, directed by new faculty member Gordon McCall, places six people in a theatre for some harmless Hallowe’en fun. Their games take on a sinister reality when a 25-year-old unsolved mystery begins to haunt the proceedings.

Secret passageways and dead bodies propel this captivating tale towards an unexpected and terrifying conclusion.

The production runs this weekend and next, with performances each evening at 8 p.m. as well as Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. On Saturday, October 26, a “Talk Back” discussion with the director and actors will follow the 8 p.m. performance.
