Award supports students in second chance at success

A new award for part-time undergraduate students offers recipients a second chance.

Recent grad Ken Ternoey (BA 2013) has funded the award for five years in an attempt to encourage struggling students to continue their studies. It will cover tuition and related registration costs for one course, and is directed to students who achieved a semester grade-point average of less than 5.0.

“The award provides an excellent incentive for every person acceptable for registration by the University,” Ternoey said. “Those who prefer to minimize the risk of losing their investment have a chance to get reimbursement for having the motivation to register, if only to test their learning skills at the University and satisfy their curiosity about University life and demands.”
