Charity drive shows group’s dedication to community action

When it opened in October 2011, the Windsor Youth Centre was the area’s only drop-in centre for homeless and at-risk youth. And more than two years later, it still is.

A group of UWindsor graduate students is looking to support this important community resource, by holding a Winter Charity Drive to collect items needed for the centre’s operations.

The University of Windsor Community Action Group is seeking donations of:

  • diapers and diaper bags, wash cloths, bottle brushes, crib sheets;
  • baby lotion, baby oil, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner;
  • paper towels, sponges, spray cleaner, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent;
  • aluminum foil, plastic wrap, zipper lock bags, resealable food containers;
  • snack cups, crackers, cereal, and pop-top canned goods.

Drop off donations to room 175, Chrysler Hall South. To inquire about making a monetary contribution, e-mail uwincag@gmail.com.
