Catholic cardinal to address challenge of spreading faith

Assumption University’s Christian Culture Series presents Donald Cardinal Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, DC, presenting a free public lecture entitled “The Challenges and Joys of the New Evangelization,” Sunday, December 1, at 3 p.m. in the Freed-Orman Centre.

“The New Evangelization is all about recognizing that each one of us counts, that we do have the possibility of making this a better world and that this is our opportunity to look to the future with confidence, faith and joy,” Wuerl says. “The secular influence has swept across the cultural landscape taking with it many of the markers that helped people identify themselves and human society.

“It is our turn now to share the great gift that we have been given, the gift of faith, and the ability to renew the face of the earth.”

His presentation will be televised on Salt and Light Catholic Television Network and followed by a reception.
