A record-setting run for the Lancer men’s hockey team came to an end Saturday with a 9-0 loss to the host Saskatchewan Huskies in the round-robin portion of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport championship tournament. The result left Windsor out of University Cup contention and second in its pool with a 1-1 record.
The Lancers’ 4-2 victory Thursday over Acadia made program history as the team’s first-ever win in championship play, capping a post-season which saw them defeat a series of higher-ranked squads and secure the provincial title.
