Charity spin central to Bike Week activities

A charity spin Wednesday will raise funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Members of the Delta Chi fraternity will mount workout bikes in the CAW Student Centre Commons from 3 to 7 p.m., soliciting donations from supporters.

The event is part of Bike Week, a celebration of cycle culture that runs through Saturday. Today until Friday, organizers present a Breakfast for Cyclists from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. outside the CAW Student Centre.

Other activities Wednesday include the Cycling Hearing Game, which demonstrates how headphones block sounds that could save riders’ lives; free tune-ups provided by Ambassador Bicycles; and a session on road safety with Kari Gignac, past chair of the Windsor Cycling Committee.

Tuesday’s schedule features Locking with Rose, 11 a.m. in the CAW Student Centre’s second-floor boardroom; the Bike Safety Evaluation from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; and a Tire Pump Race, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. outside the CAW Student Centre.
