Inventor Lou Tortola will demonstrate his RoundTail bicycle design Thursday at 3 p.m. outside the CAW Student Centre.
Cyclists will have a chance to show off their rides Thursday evening during a Parade of Bicycles at the Walkerville Theatre, culminating in a group ride to the City Cyclery.
The event is part of Bike Week, a celebration of cycle culture that runs through Saturday. Each weekday, organizers present a Breakfast for Cyclists from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. outside the CAW Student Centre.
Other events Thursday include a chance to try out stationery bikes during a social spin, and a demonstration of the innovative RoundTail bicycle, designed by a local inventor to absorb road vibration.
Wednesday’s schedule features free tune-ups provided by Ambassador Bicycles from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the Cycling Hearing Game from 1 to 2:30 p.m. outside the CAW Student Centre; a session on road safety at 11 a.m. in the centre’s second-floor boardroom; and a charity spin from 3 to 7 p.m. in the CAW Student Centre Commons.
