Centre to continue contributions to student success through summer

The Student Success Centre will continue to provide writing support and career services to students during the Inter/Summer Session. Services to students are free and include one-on-one consultations.

The Writing Support Desk is located on the main floor of the main building of the Leddy Library and is available for scheduled appointments or walk-ins. It provides assistance with:

  • constructing strong theses and arguments
  • grammar and syntax problems
  • analyzing and integrating sources
  • citing and referencing
  • interpreting assignment prompts
  • developing active reading habits

Summer hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Instructors may also arrange class presentations, with a minimum two weeks’ notice, on the following topics:

  • pre-writing
  • blueprint of an essay
  • grammar
  • punctuation
  • sentence structure/academic tone
  • common errors
  • editing and revising
  • citing, referencing and academic integrity

The Career Services team continues to provide support to students through Intersession and the summer. Students may view job opportunities and book appointments related to resume writing, job search, career planning and interview techniques via myCareer https://career.uwindsor.ca.

Inter/Summer Session instructors may also request a career-related presentation for their classes, on such topics as job search management, resume writing, interview preparation or career planning. Students who would like to participate in Volunteer Internship Program (VIP) this fall may apply through myCareer (https://career.uwindsor.ca) before July 15.
