Two sessions to address patient-centred health care

Monica Staley, director of patient relations and legal affairs for Windsor Regional Hospital, will define patient-centred care and identify the related role of students in a free public presentation entitled “Patient-Centered Care: Advocating for Patients and Families,” on campus Monday, January 26.

Staley, a registered nurse and practicing lawyer, is an adjunct professor at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Her lecture is part of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Open School for Health Professionals, an interprofessional educational community dedicated to improving the quality and safety of patient care.

The one-hour event promises door prizes and certificates of attendance, and will be offered in room 203, Toldo Health Education Centre, in two sessions: 10:30 or 11:45 a.m. Register online through the open school website.
