Registration now open for Canterbury ElderCollege spring classes

Registration has just opened for spring, with ElderCollege offering 92 courses across 10 campuses throughout Windsor-Essex, and Chatham-Kent. Most courses cost between $25 and $45.

“The courses are short: there are no tests, exams. You don’t build up credits, it’s just for fun,” says Canterbury ElderCollege director Lloyd Brown-John. These courses are learning opportunities for older adults who wish to enrich their lifestyle through active involvement in education and contribute to the social and cultural development of the community.

“This spring, individuals 55 years and better with a zest for learning can register for sports, computers, local history, bus tours, and wine courses,” says coordinator Catherine Fettes.

The fall semester served more than 400 members (there’s an annual $10 membership fee), and there are many new registrants this spring, she says.
