Sessions to explore meaning of just culture in healthcare workplace

Between a punitive work environment and one that is free of consequences lies a just culture that recognizes the distinction between human error and reckless behaviour.

Presenters from Windsor Regional Hospital—Sharon Morris, director of human resources and labour relations, and Claudia Den Boer Grima, regional vice president of cancer services—will explore answers to the question “I’ve made an error… now what?” in a free discussion Wednesday, March 4, entitled “Practicing in a Healthcare Organization that Follows a Just Culture.”

Room 203, Toldo Health Education Centre, will host two one-hour sessions, at 10:30 or 11:45 a.m.

The event is part of the Open School for Health Professionals series of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, an interprofessional educational community dedicated to improving the quality and safety of patient care. A door prize draw and certificates of attendance are available.
