Conference to showcase feminist research

Registration is now open for the annual conference of the Feminist Research Group, scheduled for Saturday, March 28.

With a theme of “Gender Based Oppression: Roots and Solutions,” the event will showcase graduate and undergraduate research from a variety of disciplines. It is open to the campus and interested members of the broader community.

Keynote speaker Renée Bondy is an alumna of the Feminist Research Group and Canadian historian by training. Now an instructor in the women’s studies program, she teaches courses on women and religion, women and marriage, and the history of women’s movements in North America. A regular writer for the feminist magazine Herizons, Dr. Bondy uses a combination of feminism and storytelling to challenge the seemingly common-sense understandings of the world around us.

Conference will be split between Vanier Hall’s Katzman Lounge and the Green Bean Café. Find more information, including a complete schedule and online registration form, on the conference website.
