Seniors’ voluntary organization holds its annual luncheon

President Alan Wildeman joined members of UNI-COM Retirement Centre, a voluntary organization of seniors, recently for the group’s annual general meeting and luncheon.

UNI-COM President George Plantus said this year’s luncheon marks the 28th consecutive year the group has hosted a UWindsor president at the event.

The group, supported by UWindsor, provides educational and community service opportunities for seniors and retirees.

The luncheon included a presentation by Dr. Wildeman, titled "UWindsor2.0", where he updated the members on future plans for the University.

The program also included the group’s annual elections, with George Plantus named as President, Bill McRae as coordinator, and Tony Johnston as Program Committee Chairperson.

McRae and Plantus presented Dr. Wildeman with this year’s UNI-COM scholarship donation of $5000 – the profit generated from its various community activities and senior study groups.

“We would like to announce that our successful Study Group Sessions for the next semester will begin September 22, mostly held at IONA College,” said George Plantus, chairperson.
