Let’s Get Moving and Walk Across Canada challenge promotes walking as a perfect way to be more active at work.

Fitting physical activity into a busy lifestyle can be difficult, so the Workplace Wellness Committee has launched the Let’s Get Moving and Walk Across Canada challenge. The aim of the virtual cross-country walk is to encourage UWindsor staff and faculty to walk as a perfect way to be more active at work.
Participants will be encouraged to walk the distance from Victoria B.C. to Halifax between May 19 to August 21, with a prize drawing at the walk’s conclusion.
The committee says walking in the short term can:
- Reduce tension and help alleviate anxiety and stress;
- Increase energy levels;
- Help participants get a better night’s sleep;
- Improve mood;
- Enhance metabolism and help in digestion.
