Computer science interns ready for recruitment

Students of the Master of Applied Computing program are available to serve as resourceful interns for community and campus employers starting in July.

The students have completed two academic terms of graduate study, says Ziad Kobti, director of the School of Computer Science.

“We invite industry partners to join us in training the next generation of elite computer scientists,” he says. “They bring with them skills in advanced software engineering, database and dynamic web application and development.”

Managed by the School of Computer Science in partnership with the Centre for Executive and Professional Education, the internship is designed to last for six months, and for a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Interested employers can request interns by registering their organization on the school’s website (click the “Register” tab, and use code 699).

Alternatively, throughout the year employers can always consider hiring students for experiential learning opportunities through either co-operative education programs or the Volunteer Internship Program of the Student Success Centre.
