Volunteer corps pitches in for fight against cystic fibrosis

A steady downpour on Shine Day, September 19, couldn’t stop a dedicated team of UWindsor students from making a difference, says local Shinerama coordinator Jessica Tetreault.

“Despite the rain we still had an amazing group come out and give their all for cystic fibrosis research and care,” she says.

The day’s efforts raised $2,672.51 for the charity Cystic Fibrosis Canada, which funds research into treatments and a cure for the genetic disease. That’s just a start, says Tetreault.

“Fundraising will continue through the semester, so keep your eyes peeled for us!” she says.

Shinerama involves thousands of post-secondary students across Canada. The campaign has raised nearly $25 million since 1964.
