Campus to host team working to prevent problem gambling

An interactive program to raise awareness of problem gambling will be come to campus today and tomorrow.

The Responsible Gambling Council created Know the Score 2 specifically for college and university students in response to studies showing that young adults are at a higher risk of developing a gambling problem.

Know the Score:

  • dispels myths about winning and losing
  • highlights signs of problem gambling
  • shares problem gambling services and,
  • suggests ways to keep gambling safer

Stop by the display in the CAW Student Centre Commons from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday to learn something new, ask questions from the friendly student staff and test your knowledge with a quick six-question quiz.

For taking the time to answer the quiz, students will be automatically entered into the $1,500 scholarship award draw and become eligible for a free pair of Beats by Dre wireless studio headphones.

The program has been brought to campus by Student Health Services, a Division of Campus Services. For more information http://www1.uwindsor.ca/health/know-the-score-0 or contact the health promotion nurse at 519-253-3000, ext. 3260.
