Lancer outraces field in provincial cross country meet

Lancer Corey Bellemore’s first-place finish earned him Most Valuable Player honours and paced the UWindsor men to a team silver medal at the Ontario University Athletics cross country championship meet Saturday in Toronto.

Bellemore was named a first-team all-star; teammates Alex Ullman and Andrew Nebel qualified as second-team all-stars.

On the women’s side, Stefanie Smith led Windsor with a sixth-place finish and a first-team all-star berth. The Lancer women ranked seventh in the team standings and will join the men in Quebec City for the Canadian Interuniversity Sport championship meet November 11.
