Students to join flutist for music of Motown

Third-year music students Sebastian Bachmeier and Austin Di Pietro will join alumnus Alexander Zonjic (BMA 1975) and other guest artists on stage for a concert fundraiser in support of the University of Windsor and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, January 28 at the Capitol Theatre.

Saxophonist Bachmeier and trumpeter Di Pietro make up half the SoCA Horns ensemble, along with jazz instructor Bob Fazecash on trumpet and trombonist John Rutherford.

The “Zonjic Meets Motown” program promises rhythm and blues, pop and jazz as well as Motown and will feature the vocal group Serieux, which recreates the style of classic soul groups like the Temptations, the Four Tops and the Manhattans.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Preceding it at 6:30 p.m. is a presentation by architect Veronika Mogyorody, who will offer images and insight on the reconstruction of the former Armouries, the downtown campus of the School of Creative Arts scheduled for occupation this summer.
