Some performances of Lion in the Streets, the current offering by the University Players theatre troupe, have already sold out, reports box office co-ordinator Anna Galka.
“We encourage patrons to buy their tickets ahead of time, rather than be disappointed,” she says.
The play, by Canadian Judith Thompson, follows the ghost of a nine-year old girl through the neighborhoods of Toronto in search of her murderer. Students in the School of Dramatic Art voted it the work they most wanted to present this season.
It is running March 3 to 12 in the Hatch Studio Theatre, Jackman Dramatic Art Centre. Wednesday through Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. On Sunday, March 5, a “Talk Back” discussion with the actors will follow the performance.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.UniversityPlayers.com or by phoning the box office at 519-253-3000, ext. 2808.
