Faculty association honours professor for contributions to equity

Family, friends and colleagues came together on May 2 to honour kinesiology professor Victoria Paraschak as the 2017 recipient of the Mary Lou Dietz Equity Leadership Award.

Dr. Paraschak was nominated by Sandra Ondracka, who spoke to her impressive record of scholarly work in the fields of outdoor education and Indigenous rights, particularly women and sport. The reception, held at the Kerr House, was an opportunity to celebrate and honour Paraschak for her many contributions over the years to equity and diversity.

The award was established by the Windsor University Faculty Association’s Status of Women, Diversity and Equity Action Committee in memory of Mary Lou Dietz. It honours association members who demonstrate the spirit of leadership through their contributions in creating an equitable culture on campus.
