Today — Monday, July 16 — is the deadline to submit nominations or to volunteer for the UWindsor #GivingTuesday Committee, which will plan a campaign to raise awareness and funds in support of students and campus projects.

The event falls this year on November 27; it follows U.S. Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday to kick off the charitable season.

Organizer Nicole Broderick, co-ordinator of the Annual Giving Program, says #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media to drive philanthropic engagement.

“The committee’s purpose is to connect and engage with our alumni, friends, and community partners in an exciting and creative way while celebrating and encouraging giving,” she says. “We are seeking a diverse committee to offer their unique perspectives and areas of expertise to the campaign.”
