President to light student centre tree Wednesday

A presidential tree lighting ceremony will officially begin holiday festivities at the CAW Student Centre at noon Wednesday, Nov. 21.

The campus community is invited to the Commons as UWindsor president Douglas Kneale flips the switch on a 7.5 metre (24 ft.) tree, decorated for the season. Attendees will receive free cookies and milk.

The centre’s director of programming, Sandra Riccio-Muglia, says the event will launch a series of holiday celebrations, including next week’s Skate the Date and Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 5.

“The centre is completely booked the rest of the year, filled with a variety of events hosted by various departments,” says Riccio-Muglia. “The events taking place are fun and versatile — silent auctions, holiday bake sales, Latin Fiesta, vendors’ booths, and more.”
