Literature professor aces trivia test

English professor Carol Davison won Wednesday’s DailyNews trivia quiz and its prize of two tickets to the University Players production of The Penelopiad, continuing through Feb. 10 in the Essex Hall Theatre.

The play is author Margaret Atwood’s retelling of the Greek epic the Odyssey through the eyes of its hero’s long-suffering wife Penelope and her 12 maids.

Dr. Davison’s entry was drawn from all those which correctly identified Pelee Island as a second home Atwood, Gilead as the dystopia she conjured in The Handmaid’s Tale, and The Blind Assassin as her Booker Prize-winning novel.

University Players evening performances through Saturday are at 8 p.m.; matinees Saturday and Sunday are at 2 p.m. Order tickets online at www.UniversityPlayers.com or by phoning 519-253-3000, ext. 2808.
