Program promises leadership experience for student volunteers

The Lead program provides interested students with opportunities to build skills while gaining valuable experience, says Amber Norman of the Student Success and Leadership Centre.

Enrolees enjoy experiential learning opportunities that foster mentorship, critical thinking, teamwork, professionalism, and campus spirit.

“Our volunteers add tremendous value to their resumes, graduate school applications, and UWindsor Co-Curricular Transcripts by choosing from the many opportunities available to them,” says Norman, a student development specialist.

“Lead emphasizes the intrinsic value of what it means to support and mentor others and further make a difference for the campus community.”

She invites faculty and staff to encourage appropriate candidates to apply.

“Please recommend Lead to any students you think would be a good fit, or those in need of extra-curricular experience that will help them find success after graduation,” Norman says.

Volunteer opportunities are available for a variety of campus activities, including Head Start orientation and UWindsor Welcome Week transition programming.

Applications are now open. Find more information, including an online application, at www.uwindsor.ca/Lead.
