Workshop to introduce $100-million federal funding program

A free workshop Wednesday, April 17, will introduce Innovative Solutions Canada, a new program with over $100 million dedicated to supporting the scale up and growth of Canada’s innovators and entrepreneurs by having the federal government act as a first customer.

Through it, 20 participating departments and agencies will create challenges for the small business and the start-up community to find original and unique solutions.

They will fund proofs of concepts up to $150,000 and back the development of prototypes up to $1 million. Innovators keep the intellectual property and departments get their hands on cutting-edge products and services.

The campus workshop is hosted by the Office of Research and Innovation Services and the Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre). It will run 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Joyce Entrepreneurship Centre. Find details and register on the event website.
