Professor secures sponsorship for drummer lab

Nadia Azar, associate professor in kinesiology, has secured a sponsorship with Evans Drumheads to provide sound-reducing drumheads that allow her Drummer Lab to conduct primary research on-site.

“My students and I can now use our in-house motion capture technology to truly understand the mechanics of drummers,” Dr. Azar says.

She expects that the data collected will translate into knowledge on optimal drumming mechanics and injury prevention in drumming.
