Business competition showcases student solutions

Business student Grant Gauthier and his teammate Nick Schiller took a high-flying approach to house sales to win top honours in the Blue Sky Competition held March 27 by the Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre).

The pair received a $1,000 first-place prize for their business idea Drone Solutions, providing in-depth video tours of real estate for potential buyers.

The Blue Sky Competition called for entrants to submit a two-minute video showcasing a solution for real-world problems. They were judged on the problem being addressed, proposed solution, identifiable market research, team members, and the production quality of the video.

Finishing second was Gladapt, an augmented reality app providing light therapy, sound therapy, and aromatherapy. In third place was Our.Care, an app to help distribute wait times at healthcare facilities.
