Basketball a centre court slam-dunk for Lancer fans

Back-to-back doubleheaders against teams from the nation’s capital put basketball in the spotlight for Lancer fans this weekend.

The Lancer will host the Ottawa Gee Gees on Friday, Jan. 31, and the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse. The women tip off at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m. both nights.

They are the only varsity contests at home this weekend.

In other Lancer action:

  • track and field athletes will compete in the Youngstown State University Invitation meet in Ohio;
  • men’s hockey will play the Gryphons in Guelph on Friday, and the Varsity Blues in Toronto on Saturday;
  • women’s hockey will be in London to play the Western Mustangs on Saturday; and
  • women’s and men’s volleyball will be in Peterborough on Saturday to meet the Trent Excalibur, and in Toronto on Sunday to take on the Blues.
