Overnight party at UWindsor to combat cancer

The UWindsor campus is having an overnight party to help fight against cancer.

Relay for Life is being held on Friday, March 20, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the St. Denis Centre. During the night, the event will have activities, entertainment, and food for those that raised donations for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The opening ceremony will take place at 7 p.m., following the Luminary Ceremony at 10 p.m. The event will also feature a survivor lap for those that came out victorious, those who lost during their battle, and those who are currently fighting.

There is still time to sign up tp help fight cancer. The registration fee is $20 and gives each participant a shirt, a luminary bag to decorate for the ceremony, and access to all activities during the night. Sign up to register on the website.

For those unable to attend, Relay for Life has partnered with the Windsor Spitfires to offer discounted admission to the hockey team’s March 12 game against the Saginaw Spirit.  Enter the promo code ‘RELAY’ on the WFCU website and for every ticket purchased, $5 will be donated towards UWindsor Relay for Life’s fundraising goal of $60,000.
