Conversation to analyze Oscar nominations

The Windsor International Film Festival is launching a new series that will allow fans to peer behind the curtain and gain thoughtful insight into the film industry.

WIFF Off Script launches today at noon with an immediate analysis of the 93rd annual Academy Award nominees that will be announced this morning.

Vincent Georgie, associate vice-president external at the University of Windsor, will be joined by alumna Katharen Bortolin for a conversation about the nominees and the challenges the industry has faced over the past year.

“The pandemic has given us the opportunity to think of creative new ways to engage our audience,” said Dr. Georgie, who also serves as WIFF’s executive director and chief programmer.

“WIFF Off Script will provide the perfect platform for insightful discussions with filmmakers and fans alike.”

The conversation will be streamed live at noon today — Monday, March 15 — on the Windsor International Film Festival’s Facebook page. The broadcast will also be available to view following the event on the festival’s website
