Drop-in session to discuss hyflex teaching approaches

An online drop-in session on Wednesday, May 19, will provide an opportunity for instructors to ask questions and discuss hybrid flexible — hyflex — teaching options for the fall term.

“Instructors have a number of questions about what this new approach to teaching will mean for their courses in the fall, so we wanted to provide an opportunity for the campus to find out a bit more about how this will work,” says Nick Baker, director of the office of open learning.

Baker says that the drop-in session is the first of many planned opportunities for faculty who may be teaching in a hyflex classroom in the fall to learn about the pedagogical approach, and the technology they will have access to in the rooms.

A series of online sessions will introduce core concepts of hyflex teaching, followed by hands-on sessions in the designated hyflex classrooms on campus once public health determines it is safe to do so. A list and registration for upcoming workshops is available at: https://ctl2.uwindsor.ca/openlearning/workshops/27/.

The drop-in session can be accessed May 19 from 2 to 3 p.m. at: http://tiny.cc/hyflexdropin.

Baker invites instructors with questions to contact him by Teams or email.
