University issues statement on fatal attacks in London

The University of Windsor community is appalled and horrified by the fatal attacks on members of London, Ontario’s Muslim community on June 6, vice-president for equity, diversity, and inclusion Clinton Beckford said in a statement released yesterday.

“Our hearts and very deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victims and the entire Muslim community. We extend a special embrace to all members of the University of Windsor Muslim family as we take stock of this heinous act of racist terror,” Dr. Beckford wrote.

“We continue to stand by members of our Muslim community, and all peoples who are targets of hatred, violence, and racism.”
