Work-study program invites winter semester job proposals

The Office of Career Development & Experiential Learning is providing an additional opportunity to submit Winter 2022 job proposals for the Ignite Work Study program. This is a chance for staff, faculty members, and departments whose needs have evolved since the original call over the summer to submit a proposal.

Applications for brand-new positions and re-submissions of positions originally submitted over the summer are being accepted. Each position that is approved will be funded at a maximum of $1,000.

Since being rebranded as Ignite and turned into co-curricular experiential learning in 2017-18, UWindsor’s work study program has been subsidizing employment opportunities for more than 400 students, 50 departments, and 100 supervisors each year while supporting students to set goals and reflect on their work experiences to identify and articulate valuable career competencies they can apply to their future career path.

The program welcomes proposals via Qualtrics until Nov. 21. Supervisors whose positions receive funding will be notified by Dec. 13, and student employees can begin working as early as Jan. 3, 2022. The program is open to all UWindsor students — some restrictions apply; view the Ignite website for details.
